Homemade Mascara Recipe (Nourishing Black Formula)
This homemade mascara is a nourishing and non-toxic alternative to conventional brands. It creates a rich, dark pigment with activated charcoal while hydrating and conditioning your lashes with castor oil, beeswax, and coconut oil. Free from vegetable and corn oil, this formula also supports lash growth and helps prevent breakage. Ingredients
1 Teaspoon of Coconut Oil, Adds moisture, prevents clumping, and helps the mascara glide on smoothly
Organic Beeswax Pellets, Provides structure and thickness, helps mascara adhere to lashes and stay in place
1 Teaspoon of Castor Oil (Cold Pressed, Hexane Free), Promotes lash growth and strength, deeply nourishing
1 Teaspoon of Activated Charcoal, Natural pigment that gives the mascara its deep black color
1/2 Teaspoon of
1 Drop of Vitamin E Oil, OR 1/4 tsp Aloe Vera Gel- Acts as a natural preservative and soothes the lash line (Vitamin E also nourishes follicles)
Instructions

In a double boiler, melt the coconut oil and beeswax together over low heat.

Stir in castor oil until fully blended.

Remove from heat and quickly stir in the activated charcoal. Mix thoroughly.

Add your drop of vitamin E or aloe vera gel and stir well.

Using the mascara wand carefully transfer the mascara into a clean mascara tube.

Let cool completely before sealing and using.
Notes
- Shake or roll the mascara tube between your hands before each use for even distribution.
- For added thickness, apply 2–3 light coats, letting each dry slightly in between.
- Use a lash brush or spoolie to declump if needed.
- Make sure to clean your tools and tube thoroughly before each refill to avoid contamination.
