Description

This homemade mascara is a nourishing and non-toxic alternative to conventional brands. It creates a rich, dark pigment with activated charcoal while hydrating and conditioning your lashes with castor oil, beeswax, and coconut oil. Free from vegetable and corn oil, this formula also supports lash growth and helps prevent breakage. Ideal for daily use, especially if you're aiming for a cleaner beauty routine without sacrificing definition.

Ingredients

  • 1 Teaspoon of Coconut Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon of Organic Beeswax Pellets
  • 1 Teaspoon of Castor Oil (Cold Pressed, Hexane Free)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Activated Charcoal
  • 1 Drop of Vitamin E Oil

Equipment

  • Heatproof Bowl or Double Boiler
  • Toothpick
  • Empty Mascara Tube
  • Measuring Spoons

Instructions

  • In a double boiler, melt the coconut oil and beeswax together over low heat.
  • Stir in castor oil until fully blended.
  • Remove from heat and quickly stir in the activated charcoal. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add your drop of vitamin E or aloe vera gel and stir well.
  • Using the mascara wand carefully transfer the mascara into a clean mascara tube.
  • Let cool completely before sealing and using.

Notes

  • Shake or roll the mascara tube between your hands before each use for even distribution.
  • For added thickness, apply 2–3 light coats, letting each dry slightly in between.
  • Use a lash brush or spoolie to declump if needed.
  • Make sure to clean your tools and tube thoroughly before each refill to avoid contamination.
Phase-Friendly: Best for the luteal phase or menstrual phase due to the nourishing and soothing properties of castor oil, coconut oil, and aloe vera—great when skin is more sensitive and lashes may shed more easily.   Seasonal Suitability: Fall and winter – Protective, hydrating oils and beeswax help shield lashes from cold, dry air.   Shelf Life: About 3 months stored in a cool, dry place. Discard earlier if it smells off or the texture changes. Use a clean spoolie each time to prevent contamination.
