Equipment

Saucepan
Whisk
Fine Mesh Stainless Steel Strainer

Ingredients

\1 Cup of Filtered Water
\1 Cup of Organic Cane Sugar
\1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Extract or Vanilla Bean Paste

Instructions

  1. Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved (about 3–4 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract — OR — add both the seeds and pod of a vanilla bean to the pan and steep for 10 minutes.
  4. If using a vanilla bean, strain the syrup into a clean glass jar to remove solids.
  5. Let cool completely before sealing and storing in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • If using a vanilla bean, you can reuse the pod in homemade extract or infuse another batch of syrup.
  • Adjust the sugar-to-water ratio (e.g., 2:1) if you want a thicker, more concentrated syrup.
  • Use in coffee, iced lattes, whipped cream, oatmeal, chia puddings, and glazes.
  • Shake before each use if using real vanilla bean—settling is natural.

Phase Friendly:

  • Luteal Phase & Menstrual Phase: Comforting and grounding, pairs well with warm drinks and supports serotonin production.
  • Can be used in small amounts across all phases for flavoring.

Season:

  • Fall and Winter (warming and cozy), but versatile year-round

Shelf Life:

  • Up to 3 weeks refrigerated in a sealed glass container
  • If made with a sterilized jar and kept cold, can last up to 1 month
  • Do not store at room temperature—natural syrups can ferment over time
