Smoky Gouda Beefy Rice

Recipe By Healthy Roots DIY
Smoky ground beef, creamy smoked gouda, and tender jasmine rice come together in a rich tomato sauce for a hearty, comforting meal. Every bite is savory, creamy, and smoky with warm herbs that deepen the flavor without overpowering the beef. Everything cooks in one Dutch oven, allowing the rice to absorb the rich sauce while keeping cleanup simple. Freshly shredded smoked gouda melts directly over the finished casserole for a smooth creamy topping without needing to turn on the oven.

Notes

Freshly shred the gouda for the smoothest melt Keep the rice at a gentle simmer to prevent sticking Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes so the sauce thickens around the rice Add a splash of beef bone broth when reheating if the casserole needs more moisture Phase: Luteal- The beef provides protein, iron, and zinc while the jasmine rice provides carbohydrates for steady energy and the dairy adds satisfying fats that can help support increased hunger during the luteal phase Season: Fall- The rich tomato sauce, smoky gouda, warm seasonings, and hearty beef and rice combination make this especially comforting during cooler fall weather Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat gently with a splash of beef bone broth if needed.
